Clinical measures and gait parameters in individuals with knee Osteoarthritis: a comparison between men and women

چکیده

This study aimed to compare men and women on muscle strength, pain, physical function, gait spatiotemporal parameters at three speeds, verifying the correlation between variables. Forty-two individuals with KOA (21 women) participated in this cross-sectional study. They were assessed using visual analog pain scale (VAS) Western Ontario McMaster Universities Index (WOMAC), lower limb isometric kinematics a treadmill speeds. The results revealed that had worse clinical measures (WOMAC strength) (p < 0.006) reduced step length 0.05). also showed more variables correlated stronger correlations (r = 0.33 0.83) than men. In conclusion, moderate strong observed for suggests could be suitable parameter assessing KOA. Also, critical role of indicates it beneficial associate usual intervention psychosocial approach women.

a comparison of teachers and supervisors, with respect to teacher efficacy and reflection

supervisors play an undeniable role in training teachers, before starting their professional experience by preparing them, at the initial years of their teaching by checking their work within the proper framework, and later on during their teaching by assessing their progress. but surprisingly, exploring their attributes, professional demands, and qualifications has remained a neglected theme i...

Reliability of principal components and discrete parameters of knee angle and moment gait waveforms in individuals with moderate knee osteoarthritis.

Gait measures are used to evaluate change in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA), but reliability has not been fully established in this population. This study examined test-retest reliability of knee angle and moment gait waveform characteristics captured using discrete parameters and principal component analysis (PCA) in individuals with moderate knee OA. Participants (n=20) underwent thre...

Reproducible genetic associations between candidate genes and clinical knee osteoarthritis in men and women.

OBJECTIVE Osteoarthritis (OA) is recognized to have a genetic component, and in this study, we aimed to replicate in a case-control study of men and women with clinical knee OA genetic associations in 12 candidate genes previously reported to be associated with OA. METHODS Twenty-five single-nucleotide polymorphisms were genotyped in 298 men and 305 women ages 50-86 who were diagnosed as havi...

Comparison of Clinical and Radiological Parameters at Knee Osteoarthritis

INTRODUCTION Osteoarthritis (OA) or arthrosis represents an inflammatory disease of joints that develops as a result of interaction of mechanical and biological parameters. With disease development, degenerative changes on joint cartilage can be noticeable that affect and cause pathological changes on other parts of a joint resulting in pain and dysfunction of a joint. A. E. Garrod in 1907 desc...
